The agreement promotes the exchange of technical knowledge based on the development of pre-professional practices of the students of the Zootechnics faculty in the area, for the benefit of the local agricultural activity.
These actions will benefit the CCs of Shicuy, Sulcán, Usibamba, as well as the SAIS Túpac Amaru and the locality of San Jose de Quero in the Junín Region and the CCs of Tomas and Huancaya in the Lima Region.
With the aim of contributing to the agricultural development of the area for the benefit of the localities surrounding the mining activity, Sierra Sumaq Rumi - Poli, signed an inter-institutional agreement with the National University of Central Peru, which allows the exchange of technical knowledge from the execution of pre-professional practices of students of the Faculty of Zootechnics of said house of studies, providing specialized advice to the producers of the area that include the CCs of Shicuy, Sulcán, Usibamba, as well as the SAIS Túpac Amaru and the locality of San Jose de Quero in the Junín Region and the CC of Tomas and Huancaya in the Lima Region.
This agreement will allow local producers to expand their knowledge and receive advice on genetic and reproductive improvement, animal health care, as well as livestock feeding, livestock management and housing, representing an important boost for this important local economic activity. Both the Rector of the university, Dr. Amador Vilcatoma Sanchez, and the Dean of the Faculty of Zootechnics, Dr. Moisés Mendoza Alvarez highlighted the interest of this collaboration, and agreed to mention that this type of agreement allows synergies to be generated between companies in the private sector, educational institutions and peasant communities in pursuit of common sustainable development. The agreement was signed at the facilities of the Sumaq Rumi Mining Unit.
