Because transparency is very important Participatory Environmental Monitoring was carried out together with the populations of Ayamarca, Ocobamba and Ocoyo and Sierra Antapite

Participatory monitoring allows generating confidence in the population by carrying out joint measurements of air and water quality through objective and auditable technical instruments.

Through a continuous and transparent relationship between Sierra Antapite and the surrounding communities, Participatory Environmental Monitoring has been resumed - after the health limitations caused by the COVID 19 pandemic - through which joint water measurements are carried out. and air to determine that they comply with the Environmental Quality Standards (ECA) established by the Ministry of the Environment and the regulatory authorities of the State. On this occasion, the monitoring was carried out in the Communities of Ocobamba - December 16 -, Ayamarca - December 15 - and Ocoyo - December 18 -, in their respective localities and accompanied by their local authorities, with the results being delivered jointly. the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) and the National Water Authority (ANA). 

Participatory Environmental Monitoring represents an opportunity to approach the population, through which, in addition to being able to carry out transparent measurements through objective technical instruments, doubts and concerns that may arise over time can be resolved, being able to resolve them in a participatory manner. and positive, at the same time that it allows citizens to intervene in the environmental monitoring of mining operations close to their population.

In the same way that the measurements are carried out jointly, the results of the samples will be shared in a transparent manner, accompanied by the technical explanation that they represent, in order to be able to understand the results while making the necessary corrections, but in coordination with the population.

Finally, Sierra Antapite welcomes and appreciates the participation of the communities of Ayamarca, Ocobamba and Ocoyo in these activities that promote the active and vigilant involvement of the population in caring for the environment, always in a transparent and objective manner.
